Head of Commercial Sales & Business Development Description This position will be responsible for leading the sales function to meet revenue goals and to identify and follow through on business development opportunities. This person must have a marine background, the ability to source and close customer deals as well as manage the sales function. This person can be located at any of the Derecktor Shipyards but must be willing to travel. Broad Responsibilities

• Lead sales activities to accomplish the commercial goals for the overall organization
• Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, and follow through to fruition
• Prepare, present and meet monthly sales forecasts and budgets
• Conduct trade and customer events
• Perform hands on selling and build a customer data bases
• Work with project managers/ estimators to ensure accurate new construction, service, repairs/refits and maintenance estimates
• Work with operations on vessel inspection and document findings
• Collaborate with Sr. Management on the evaluation and analysis of new opportunities
• Perform other duties as required by the President/Sr. Management Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field or equivalent
  • Marine Industry knowledge and 7+ years marine experience
  • Must be a good negotiator with clear communication skills
  • Able to think creatively & strategically; develop ideas into business results
  • Able to achieve profitable growth targets, proven track record
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Build and maintain strong customer relations as well as internal relations

    Candidates must be able to perform - SMAW/Stick, FCAW/Flux Core, GMAW/Aluminum and TIG.
    Additionally, welder will be involved in the repair, modification, and assembly of various types of metal. Requirements

    --- Be skilled in the fabrication and repair of equipment, fixtures and structures
    --- Ability to read and understand drawings and weld symbols

    --- Tool/equipment operation knowledge

Assemble, install, repair, and maintain marine hydraulic plumbing, pipe systems and structural components. Ability to read and understand blueprints, select proper materials, equipment and tools to complete projects. Requirements Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be considered:
    • Be skilled in the fabrication and repair of marine piping systems
    • Lay out, fabricate and assemble structural vessel components
    • Tool/equipment operation knowledge and experience
    • Experience and proficiency in TIG welding in aluminum and stainless steel
    • High attention to detail
      Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
    • Ability to climb in and out of vessels under repair

      • Perform routine inspections, maintenance and repair of marine equipment and vessels
      • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine necessary repair work
      • Experience with operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and propulsion systems
      • Experience in rigging and removal of shafts, propellers, and rudders Requirements
        • Marine and/or Heavy Equipment experience of 2+ years
        • Knowledge of the marine industry preferred
        • Ability to work in a shipyard environment
        • Must have own tools
        • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

          • Experience and proficiency in TIG welding in aluminum and stainless steel
          • Be skilled in lay out, fabrication and assembly of structural vessel components
          • Tool/equipment operation knowledge and experience
          • Interpret construction drawings with basic mathematic ability
          • High attention to detail
          • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
          • Ability to climb in and out of vessels under repair
