compensation plans JOB SUMMARY: Develops engaging and effective
learning experiences for the college. Works closely with subject
matter experts, stakeholders, and other team members to design and
develop high-quality instructional content and courses for online
and other technology-assisted educational venues. Provides support
to face-to-face courses utilizing cutting-edge tools. Support is
provided through the use of various tools and technologies, such as
eLearning authoring software and learning management systems to
create courses, modules, and assessments. Interacts diplomatically
with the faculty, support staff, and College administrators in a
professional, diplomatic, and timely manner. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously from start to finish,
including but not limited to working with faculty and other
technology staff to analyze, design, and develop pedagogically
sound technology enriched learning environments in accordance with
Quality Matters and instructional design methodology, designing
course maps, syllabi, accessible content, rubrics, and interactive
content;
- Uses industry leading authoring tools to develop and maintain
course templates, course content, course syllabi, and
communications including but not limited to: Higher Ed Learning
Management Systems, Storyline, H5P, Adobe Creative Suite, MS
Office, Collaborate, Articulate, Echo360, etc.
- Applies knowledge and general understanding of laws associated
with ADA compliance (including sections 504 and 508), accessibility
considerations for online learning, and familiarity with principles
of Universal Design for Learning.
- Conducts and facilitating internal and external online Quality
Matters Reviews to assure quality standards of online course
design.
- Develops and delivers professional development, instructional
resources, job aids, and training initiatives in partnership with
other parts of the college in the areas of online teaching, course
design, instructional technologies, and pedagogy.
- Responsible for keeping abreast of emerging applications of
instructional design theory and instructional technology.
- Completes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree
from an accredited institution required and a minimum of two (2)
years related work experience in curriculum design/training in a
professional environment; OR Master's degree from an accredited
institution in Instructional Design/Educational Technology or
related field required and a minimum of two (2) years' experience
in instructional design/educational technology (preferred)
Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Matters as it relates to the
instructional design process. (preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency/experience in designing curriculum
utilizing learning objects with an understanding of applications of
technology to online, hybrid and face-to-face courses;
- Experience with technical writing, visual design, and/or video
design is preferred, particularly writing storyboards;
- Knowledge of instructional design theories and models;
- Experience with learning management systems, multimedia
development processes, and accessibility and copyright
requirements;
- Knowledge of emerging technology as related to instruction and
experience with digital technologies, multimedia applications and
distance learning technologies;
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal as
well as excellent presentation skills;
- Demonstrated mastery of the ADDIE model, educational technology
tools, and possesses exceptional skills in written communication,
presentation, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational
skills.
- Self-starter, motivated, ability to take initiative, effective
time management, prioritize responsibilities;
- Comfortable working both independently and under supervision,
as well as collaboratively with team members.
- Good listener with coaching skills; PHYSICAL DEMANDS: This
position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach
up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five
(25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard
office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and
other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow
