Facility Description:--Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute is a 380-bed acute-care hospital offering a full range of services. Lawnwood is home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast and offers diagnostic, interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include a 24/7 emergency department, pediatric emergency department, labor/delivery and birthing, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, diagnostic services, and a full range of inpatient and outpatient general surgical services. Lawnwood provides the area---s only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Level II Trauma Center, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

Join our--2019 HCA Nurse Residency Program!--Program Details:--The HCA Nurse Residency Program willprovide education, support and guidance to new graduate nurses as they begintheir careers in HCA Healthcare hospitals. --It is a yearlong, extensiveclinical orientation (StaRN) and professional development curriculum fornew graduate nurses that culminates in an evidence-based poster presentation.--StaRN (12 -16 weeks):
Specialty Training Apprenticeshipfor Registered Nurses----The StaRN Programis primarily designed to provide the graduate nurse with the tools necessary tosucceed in today---s hospital environment.StaRN will assist the graduate nursewith the transition out of--the classroom setting onto the unit byproviding the following training:--Didactic training: introduces nurses to core curriculum and hospital initiatives in a classroom settingSimulation training: reinforces nursing skills learned in a didactic settingHands on training: 6-8 weeks with a facility preceptor in a nursing unit--Certifications achieved:----Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)CertificationElectrocardiogram (ECG) DysrhythmiaInterpretation NIH Stroke Scale Certification----The schedule duringthe first portion of the StaRN is Monday through Friday, 8-hours a day, 40hours a week. Qualifications

  • Recent (under 1 year) graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • FL RN Licensure, or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions)
  • Strong communication skills required
  • Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
