Apply today for our Registered Nurse Pediatrics opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Description:The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physician's orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies.The Pediatric Unit is a 10-bed unit that cares for children from the age of 0 - 18 years old. The most common diagnosis for this unit is RSV, broken bones, injuries from car accidents, bronchitis, tonsils removal (post care). The Pediatric RN will provide the medical needs for children including communicating with them and their families when they are scared and/or cannot clearly communicate.--In this position - you will:
      • Manage efficient flow of patients including screening and assessments
      • Educate patients and families regarding treatment and medication instructions
      • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
        What qualifications you will need:
        • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or
        • Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision)
        • Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing preferred
        • Current BLS & PALS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
        • 1 year of Acute Care Pediatric RN experience preferred This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery.
