Qualifications Position Description: The Behavioral Health RN
manages the nursing care of patients in accordance with established
policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
The Behavioral Health Adult Unit has 24 beds (private and
semi-private). The BH Adult RN will treat patients for mental
health problems such as major depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar
disorders and/or substance abuse. The patients on this unit are
adults - ages 18 years old and above. On this unit, we have
Recreational Therapy and a large gymnasium as well as outdoor areas
for activities. Psychiatrists and Internal Medicine physicians who
see the Adult patients daily to manage any medical and psychiatric
needs. We have Social works for individual, family and group
therapy on this unit. In this position, you will: Performs initial
and on-going physical and psychosocial assessment according to
accepted standards of nursing practiceAssesses plans and evaluates
patient care needsCarries out physician ordersAdministers
prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors
vital signsParticipates in treatment team conferences to assist in
planning and revising goals, objectives and interventions
appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each
patient \n What qualifications you will need: Licensed Registered
Nurse in the state of Florida, or Recognized compact licensure
(subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not
limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision)Graduate from
a professional accredited school of nursing preferredCurrent BLS
Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)1
year RN experience in a Behavioral Health (Psych) Unit/Facility
preferred This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for
COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations
(unless a medical or religious exemption is approved). HCA Florida
Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full
range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart
Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides
interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery.
Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics,
orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric
