We want your knowledge and expertise!Job Summary and QualificationsPosition Description: The NICU RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Neonatal ICU (NICU) Unit is considered Level 2 and Level 3 - Level 2 is capped at 6 babies and Level 3 is able to treat 10 babies. The patients on this unit are newborn (0 - 3 mos.). The NICU RN will care for the medical needs of the premature and/or severely ill newborn infants including testing and administering medications as well as the basic needs such as feeding, cleaning and diaper changes. This unit is for premature infants that are born at this hospital (gestational age 25-37 weeks). In this position, you will:
      • Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs
      • Carries out physician orders
      • Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs
      • Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
        What qualifications you will need:
        • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida, or
        • Recognized compact licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provision)
        • Graduate from a professional accredited school of nursing preferred
        • Current BLS Certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
        • NRP Cert (30 Day Grace Period)
        • 1 year of ICU nursing experience preferred This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital.
