As a Registered Nurse with the Children's Community Action Team your responsibilities will include:

* Provide assistance to the Psychiatrist at the youth's psychiatric appointment including taking psychiatric history and vitals
* Provide Education to youth and families on medical diagnoses, treatment, medications and other medical topics recommended by the team of Psychiatrist
* Conduct physicals on each youth (ages 5-21) that are a part of the CAT program and follow any ongoing medical conditions present
* Provide ongoing assessment of youth's mental illness symptoms and youths' response to treatment. Makes appropriate changes in the treatment plan to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status, or behavior which puts client at risk
* Maintain records of psychiatric appointments, medication prescribed and monitoring prescription refills, prior authorization or updated evaluations.
* Communicates with pharmacies regarding authorizations/refills request/availability of medications; when necessary, assist families in setting up medication boxes, organizing medications, obtaining funding for medication and proper disposal of discontinued medications

Requirements

New Horizons will need you to have the following qualifications:

* State of Florida Registered Nursing License current and in good standing
* Ability to work in a high-stress environment
* Ability to work with a team and make quick decisions
