Job Description QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
REQUIREMENTS: The qualifications and skill requirements for this
position include:
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution; and a
minimum of two (2) years related work experience with ESE
students;
- Must have one-year experience in Advocacy, creating support
groups, educational advocacy, group facilitation skills, and parent
skill building;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
- Ability to interact professionally and politely with the
students, public, and college faculty & staff.
- Possess organizational, interpersonal, and management
skills;
- Ability to prioritize work responsibilities;
- Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solve, and make
decisions with minimal supervision;
- Skill in gathering, interpreting, and reporting
information;
- Bilingual is preferred.
- Valid Florida Driver License and insured personal vehicle, IRSC
does not provide a vehicle for this position. ESSENTIAL JOB
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job functions and
responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain knowledge of all IRSC and Project STAGE policies and
procedures;
- Comply with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA -
34 CFR Part 99);
- Encourage parent involvement and participation in center-based
programs and activities;
- Communicate with parents for the purpose of providing
information to ensure student learning improvement and relay that
information to the Dean of Workforce Education & Program
Director.
- Visit employers throughout Martin, St Lucie, Indian River and
Okeechobee counties regarding Project STAGE students and recruiting
potential employers and relay that information to the Dean of
Workforce Education.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, especially MS Word,
Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Creative Cloud. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: The specific duties and responsibilities for this
position include, but are not limited to:
- Help students identify appropriate employment.
- Help students identify appropriate work accommodations.
- Help prepare students for internships and/or job
placement.
- In collaboration with Project STAGE staff, produce three
newsletters per year during the months of September, December, and
March;
- Field questions regarding Project STAGE activities;
- Discuss general situations with staff and or parents that are
pertinent to the success of the program;
- Participate in monthly staff meetings;
- Participate in trainings/workshops and complete other duties as
assigned by the Dean of Workforce Education. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift,
reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of
twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to
operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator,
telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its
employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the

$18.94/hour - Exact compensation may vary based on skills,
